Thailand as many say is an for real beautiful country which attracts millions and millions of traveler per year to the main cities and surrounding islands. Originally earmarked as a rest and leisure destination for American Gis while and after active service; it has been officially a bonafide traveler destination since the 1980s.

From the busy bustling towns, cities and beach resorts like Bangkok, Chang Mai and Puckett to the petite known secluded secret gems and secret treasures Thailand is a hive of activity, tourism and sunshine. Thailand is well known for it's busy traveler destinations and it could be said that many of the tourists are grouped or stay within the confines of their resort or hotel. Rarely venturing past their resorts into the sometimes polarised Thai way of life and locations where the migrant and local workers live. Thailand has many things for traveler to sense and remember; however there are as with all foreign holiday destinations safe bet 'tourist traps' that those journeying to any destinations are wise to be aware of.

It is a general rule of thumb that if you want to sense the best of a country, whether that be food or pastimes that you go to the places the locals voyage to. It has been said on safe bet traveler describe sites that the predominant 'tuk tuks' open sided vehicles that ferry tourists from port to port are one such traveler trap. Potentially risky and open to all the noise and pollution from the rest of the traffic it has been recommend that you will never see a Thai local on a tuk tuk.

The 'man with the snake' is often a well analogised traveler trap often placing without regard or permission a large snake onto the shoulders of unassuming traveler and 'allowing' them to have their photo taken with it and then charging upwards of 350 baht if a traveler trap. Tourists are often advised to stay away from such habitancy and or politely decline but refrain from arguing over the price and retention personal security at the forefront of their minds.

Another traveler trap to be aware of is the additional charges that can be added on and turn a seemingly good deal into a nightmare. For instance the airport departure tax which is a necessity and id not included in the airfare can be 500 baht, without which you will be stuck. There can also be plenty additional charges in hotels so look out for charges when you have a guest in the hotel or you want to eat breakfast there they can soon add up to thousands of pounds.

Thailand is a vibrant, moving and cultured country which is a favourite holiday destination by many; just be aware of traveler traps and keep your wits about you!
